The uniqueness of this island is its beautiful marble, stunning limestones and most importantly, the mythical lake named Lake of Maiden Pregnant.
As the name suggested, this lake has its legends in granting unfortunate childless couples to gain fertility. Some also believed that the island is so-named because it has a shape of a pregnant lady lying in the mountain. Whether you are riding on a speedboat or jet-ski, you can discover this strange-looking shape at certain angle.
There is only one narrow pathway which can lead you to the fresh water lake. You may require to take a 10 minute climb along the steps on the hills and pass through the tropical forest in order to reach the lake which located on the opposite of jetty.
Usually, you will be given approximately an hour on this island to indulge yourself in water sport activities, enjoy wonderful scenic views of the sparkling fresh water lake or even take a dip into it!
Gender Reminder:
1.Due to conservation purpose, visitors are required to pay an admission fee for the entry which is not included in the packages. It will usually cost about RM3-RM6 depending on whether you are a local citizen or a foreign traveler.
2.Visitors are advised to wear a life jacket while swimming in the designated area. Don't go too far out as the lake is 10-meter-deep with no shallow area.
3.Be aware with the monkeys as they have a tendency to grab your items. It is better for visitor to leave an eye on their belongings.
4.Visitors who wish to swim are encouraged to change their attires at the pay toilet nearby the entrance or wear a swimming suit inside.
5.Island hopping tour is not suitable for elderly as there are hundred steps to climb in order to reach the lake of pregnant maiden.
